We are giving up stretch film in palletizing our products
As one of the first and few, we have just introduced paper palletizing at SILBO.
In order to consistently strive for maximum environmental sustainability of our production, we decided to change the way we palletize our products and give up stretch film. That is why, as one of the first and few, we have just introduced paper palletizing at SILBO.
The paper we use in palletizing, compared to the commonly used stretch film (from primary raw materials), is characterized by a carbon footprint smaller by as much as 62%. *
This is another decisive step by SILBO in striving to maximize environmental sustainability in our production. After energy optimization of the machine park, switching to renewable energy sources, adopting a product strategy based on eco-design, it was time to reject stretch film. And this is not our last word.
SILBO's partner supplying paper for palletizing and the initiator of the "StretchWrap" project is MONDI, with which SILBO has been building cooperation based on innovation for years. Now we are jointly implementing new palletizing standards, boldly setting the direction of sustainable development in the supply chain.
*These calculations were made based on the GHG Protocol, assuming a consumption of 840 g of paper per Euro pallet and 400 g of stretch film per Euro pallet.
